The Cisco 2960 series of fixed-configuration, standalone, intelligent Ethernet devices enable entry-level office networks to provide enhanced LAN service to the network edge. By simplifying the movement from non-intelligent hubs and unmanaged switches to a fully scalable network, the Catalyst 2960 series is ideal for operation in offices, classrooms and other space-constrained environments. The dual-purpose uplinks for Gigabit Ethernet uplink flexibility allow network managers to use either a copper or fiber uplink. Each dual-purpose uplink has one 10/100/1000 port and one SFP-based port, with one active at a time.
